It has been painfully hot in Tuscany this past week! It only takes 5 minutes of being outside to get drenched in sweat. On top of that, I have intense physical farm work to do. However, Kara and I have discovered a beautiful gorge to swim in to keep ourselves cool in the afternoon. The river has waterfalls and the water comes straight off the mountain, so it is very clean. I have a feeling that we will be going out for Gelato and visiting this place a lot.
The bugs have come out to play as well. My body is filled with bug bites! My skin is miserable. I think that I am more allergic to the venom of the bugs than other people because it doesn’t seem to affect the natives as much as me.
Last week the group of girls left and a new group of girls came in. I prefer last weeks group of girls. They were the perfect average age of 13 and were the sweetest girls. One girl even had American shorts! Woohoo!
Eraldo brought his guitar to me today to let me use during my stay. I was so ecstatic when I saw it! My fingers are a bit rusty, but they will be back in shape in no time. This place is quite inspiring creatively and I’ve been longing for some kind of outlet. I think I’ll start off by learning the song “Heat Wave.”
